ABOUT TSU JONG
Australian fashion designer Tsu Jong launched her label in 2009 with debut womenswear collection “Botanica” which was inspired by the beauty of botanical forms and their unique textures.
The label name is taken from Tsu Jong’s own Chinese name as given by her beloved Grandfather, meaning “Dream and Pearl”. Reminding herself and others that one should always pursue her own dream of life. Enjoying and treasuring each moment like a valuable pearl found in the blue ocean.
Tsu Jong’s fashion journey started at a young age when she watched her mother designed garments for local boutiques. Since then she began learning traditional tailoring techniques from her mother and the sewing room became her favourite playground.
At the age of 15, Tsu Jong designed a costume named ‘Hopes and Dreams’ in collaboration with Casula Powerhouse Museum. Upon graduating from high school, she pursued formal training in fashion and textile designing at TAFE and the University of Technology Sydney.
Following the success of the 2010 “Summer Love” collection showcased at the Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, Tsu Jong has extended her design into accessories like jewellery and scarves with a view to introduce more product ranges in the near future.
